Our Story

Welcome to ORA Fabulous Fibres!

At ORA we love natural yarns and have a large collection including veganrecycled and fair trade.

Our plant based range includes eco-friendly and sustainable yarns from raffia, banana, pineapple, hemp, coconut, ramie and bamboo fibres.  Our beautiful recycled yarns repurpose waste materials from textile production including sari silk, sari cotton, linen and wool.

We support a number of fair trade and sustainable partnerships with communities in developing countries.

ORA love artisan yarns and our beautiful range includes Habu Textiles and Daruma Yokota yarns where small mills craft fascinating yarns often using traditional techniques.
ORA Fabulous Fibres strive to reduce our impact on the environment and is committed to reducing plastics. All orders are packed in a complimentary, unbleached calico drawstring bag - which is perfect for storing your projects - and we proudly use compostable, reusable and zero-waste mailers.
compostable, biodegradable and environmentally friendly mailers used for posting all ora orders
We take special care of our yarns with all ORA yarns stored away from sunlight and in a pet free and smoke free environment.

 About Me

ORA Fabulous Fibres was started by Debbie to satisfy her endless lust and fascination for yarns of every colour and texture. I love to be surrounded by them, to touch them and just to look at them like a child in a lolly shop!

I have loved craft, in particular crochet, knitting and sewing (embroidery and machine), since I was a young girl picking up my passion from my mum who was always busy making something.

I am very lucky to live on the coast of Western Australia where the sun shines brightly and the skies are blue!

For three years ORA was a hobby until 2020 when I left a full time career in Information Technology to focus on ORA and creative pursuits on a full time basis. I thank the stars every day for the opportunity that I have been given and the fabulously talented creatives that I am lucky to connect with through this fantastic creative community.

Be inspired by something beautiful here at ORA Fabulous Fibres!
