At ORA, we are always thrilled to see the unique and inspiring ways our customers use our natural fibres. This time, we are excited to share a stunning creation by one of our talented customers, Sandra Forrester @hats_by_sandra_joy, who used our Eri Red Silk Cocoons to craft this truly remarkable hat, which was entered into the 2024 Millinery Australia’s Design Award.
The hat, inspired by the love story of Anastasia’s Pool on Gantheaume Point in Broome, beautifully captures the essence of the Australian landscape. The rich, earthy hues of the Eri Red Silk Cocoons mirror the colour of the soil in this breathtaking part of the country. These cocoons, naturally coloured a deep, rusty red, were the perfect choice for reflecting the vibrant tones of the Broome coastline.
Sandra's magnificent headpiece is a true celebration of nature, craftsmanship, and the uniqueness of handmade millinery.
We are honoured that our Eri Red Silk Cocoons could play such a pivotal role in this incredible work of art, showcasing their versatility not only in textiles but also in the world of millinery. Stay tuned for more customer creations that celebrate the beauty of nature and sustainable materials!
